Pianist Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir has signed a recording contract with esteemed classical music label Naxos.
The contract entails a world premiere issuing of selected solo and chamber works by Iceland´s first composer Sveinbjörn Sveinbjörnsson (1847-1927)
The collaborating musicians with Nína Margrét in this recording are violinist Auður Hafsteinsdóttir and cellists Sigurgeir Agnarsson and Sigurður Bjarki Gunnarsson.
The project was generously sponsored by the Icelandic composer´s fund of the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (Tónskáldasjóður RÚV), the Icelandic National Celebration Fund (Þjóðhátíðarsjóður) and the recording fund of the Association of Musicians and Soloists (FÍT).
The Sveinbjörnsson CD will be issued later this year in celebration of the composer´s 160th anniversary. For more information please visit naxos.com
